Hello, I’m heavenmetals.
In the winter of 2020, I saw a set of DSA Astrolokeys on an Ergodox EZ and was instantly hooked. After the, “Whoa, what the hell is that? A keyboard? You can put cool keys on keyboards?” moment, I dove headfirst into the hobby.
So I started building.
At first, I was just wanted to learn how to make keyboards to mitigate the potential financial damage of buying 20 mechanical keyboards and cables. But then I realized that I liked building more than I valued the end result.

I’ve invested hundreds of hours and dollars (so much for protecting my bank account) into learning, practicing, and creating. I’d love to put that to good use and build something for you!
But who are you actually, though?
I’m a 29-year-old living in Chicago. I have a full-time job as a learning & development designer. My interests include music, roller skating, and also music. I like to cross-stitch, watch drama channels on YouTube, and drink water. I have two adorably annoying cats named Roswell and Church, whom you can fawn over below.
In terms of keyboards, I gravitate towards split ergo boards. I currently use a Kyria and a corne as my main keyboards along with a Cookpad, and I’m yearning for the perfect split 40. Maybe I’ll end up making it—who knows?
